Matts commentary
-------------------à
>>April 20, 2004 "This past Monday on RAW will end up being a very significant day in the history
of Matt Hardy. Do you know what I did last Monday? In case you missed it, here’s a brief recap: I was on my way to the
ring for a mixed tag match, looking to settle the score with Val Venis from our HEAT match on Sunday. Shockingly and suddenly,
Kane’s pyro exploded, and here came the big red monster looking for an innocent sacrifice. As Kane entered the ring,
he automatically chokeslamed Val and then turned his attention to his real prey -- Lita. As everyone knows, Lita and V1 have
had their ups and their downs, but there is no denying our long and storied history. As Lita scrambled for dear life, she
saw V1 in the distance and screamed “Matt.” Time stood still as I flashed back to all that we’d been through
together. In an instant, I went from a conflicted state to a moment of clarity. I had to stop Kane from massacring Lita, even
if it meant I had to take the chance of being destroyed. And I did. The most important question, though, is why? Stay tuned."
"Last week in Chicago, one of my closest amigos experienced a birthday on April 14. After RAW on Monday, we went to
a diner to eat dinner that ended up filled with WWE fans. My amigo had been given a birthday cake earlier that day and still
had some left. She decided to give some of the fans slices of her birthday cake as we signed autographs and took pictures
with them. One fan in particular (we’ll call him Birthday Cake Boy), said that if my amigo would take a picture with
him, she could smash the rest of the cake in his face. After already having a couple of glasses of wine, my amigo said “sure
thing.” So in front of around a hundred fans, BCB got pie faced by a WWE Superstar’s birthday cake. It was one
of the most comical fan bargains I’ve ever seen."
>>June 2, 2004 "I’m sure that most of you diehard Mattitude
Followers remember when I suffered a torn MCL in my left knee about a year and a half ago. On May 2, in Yuma, Ariz.,
I badly hyperextended my left knee during my match. Although it was very painful, I figured I would be able to make it through
RAW in a non-wrestling role on Monday. Then I guessed I could rest my knee for a couple of days and it would be alright. Bad
guess. The following Friday, May 7, in New Orleans,
my knee went out again, but only worse. That night I literally couldn’t walk, Amy (Lita) had to carry me into our hotel
room. I stayed awake the majority of the night, icing my knee in 20-minute cycles. Fortunately, the RAW trainer got me an
awesome knee brace that allowed me to finish up the weekend by hobbling through very short matches. It’s amazing what
a knee brace and adrenaline will get you through. After being examined, it turns out I’ve done more damage to my left
MCL. My entire left knee is just weaker because of the damaged ligaments in it, so it wears and tears faster then it should.
The last few weeks, I’ve made it my priority to rehab and strengthen my left knee, and it seems to be helping. If I
don’t strengthen my knee, there is a very good chance of tearing a vital ligament that would require major surgery.
No thanks, knock on wood."
A quick note to all my MFers on
my newest character direction as mentioned in the previous paragraph. The feedback to me "doing the right thing" and reuniting
with Lita has been amazingly positive thus far. Much like the situation with Jeff, people like Lita and I together as allies.
The Version One personality is alive and well, although special situations will now call for certain behavior. A true Mattitude
Follower not only supports Matt Hardy the character, but more importantly supports Matt Hardy the person. That is the golden
rule of Mattitude.
Maybe the reason I decided to save
Lita was to get my life and career back to where it needed to be. A recent Matt Fact stated, "Matt believes in karma." My career may have been in a "slump" due to the fact of what goes around comes around.
My character had done a lot of bad things to good people, with Lita probably being the most important. Could this play into
my situation? Stay tuned to find out.
A month ago, Amy and I lost our
dog, Mason. Mason was killed in a tragic accident that happened in an instant. Mason was never out of our sight and traveled
everywhere with us. I’ve never been a huge animal person, but Mason changed that. Amy and I treated him like a child,
and we both miss him more than I could ever explain. That’s the main reason the last few weeks have been tough. Don’t
take anything for granted. A split-second can change everything. Be well, and until then …
>>July 9, 2004 "A portion of the Internet writers don’t
think Lita is that great of a WWE performer or asset to the company. For whatever reasons, they aren’t Lita fans, whether
it is her in-ring skills or character or whatever. You’re wrong. She is the most popular and successful woman currently
in the wrestling business. Success isn’t measured solely by how great of a wrestler you are. Never has been, never will
be. She is talented in so many ways that some people just don’t know and can’t see from the surface. Go to WWEShopZone.com,
pull down the Superstars menu, and look how many girls have their own merchandise section. There’s only one, and that’s
Lita. Do some research and find out which female has had the most action figures made of them. Look at the number of Lita
signs in the crowd every week during RAW. I could give you examples all night. These are the things that ultimately determine
how successful and popular you are. Lita attracts people far and wide, and has brought more new fans to the WWE than any other
Diva."
>>Last Matt Hardy Commentary
EVER
"It’s 3:00 a.m. on August 12, and I was just getting ready to send
my commentary to my friends at WWE.com. Before doing so, I decided to scan the Net and check the headlines, and I came across
something quite absurd. After reading this, I just had to use this as an example of the "wrestling negativity snowball" that
I’ve been speaking about. I encountered a ridiculous article that some kid wrote that made an analogy comparing Amy
(Lita) to credit and debit cards. This person went on to talk about how my career’s screwed because I’ve reunited
with Lita and because of my recent storyline. The most asinine part of the article is how it criticizes the reality of Amy
and I being put together on the same schedule, not just on TV. He then rambles on about how I’ve made a career-destructive
decision and how Amy is deteriorating. He then states that one of the Diva Search contestants is going to take Lita’s
place. He also quotes a sign from a fan to back up his claim that Lita’s days are numbered in WWE. This was too much.
At this point, I had to wake up Amy up to read this laughable nonsense. To begin with, anyone who doesn’t personally
know Matt Hardy or Amy Dumas can’t accurately comment on our personal lives. You can comment on the characters of Matt
and Lita that you see on TV because you’re familiar with them. But the only information you have is your opinion of
what you see on screen and what you read or hear about. People have no idea about what goes on and our status behind the curtain.
Is Matt Hardy’s career suffering? Absolutely not. Right now, I am in the best spot I have ever been in as a singles
competitor. I loved the stuff I did on SmackDown! It was great and good for my career. Although it took me a while to get
where I wanted to be on RAW, I am currently in a better position now. If I didn’t have to get some work done on my knee,
my snowball would keep rolling and getting bigger. Whether you love the Matt-Lita-Kane saga or think it’s rotten, you
don’t understand the business if you don’t realize it’s a huge, high-profile part of the RAW show. It’s
these types of negative, nonsensical articles that set bad examples for other fans and give the IWC a bad rep."

First of
all, hello and thank you to everyone who reads this, and I would also like to give a special thanks to Dawn, Pat, Danny, Jazz
and THE DREAM (Tommy Dreamer, not Dusty Rhodes). My time in ECW would have been totally different w/o you guys. :) I don't
know if you guys can really catch it, but I have been wearing a lot of the bracelets and necklaces from the mail, too. I got
my stiches out at tv this week from the boot to the head after I gave Ivory an enzigury kick at Survivor Series. I ended up
only getting 4 stiches, but should have had a few more, because when my stiches were removed, I still have some pretty wide
gaps where I wasn't sewn together. Oh well, I guess I'll have a battle scar... builds character, I guess :( We waited around,
but that first morning was kinda shot. That afternoon we tried to make up for the morning, but I still think we got some good
shots. Thursday afternoon we had a planned activity. The three of us were going to give trapeze artistry a try. Youll have
to wait till you see the video to find out what happens. That night we shot some vignettes for the upcoming video. The three
of us had a lot of fun doing those.... I dont know if anyone else did, but we always seem to do a great job entertaining ourselves.
Ok, to bed and back to work. The next morning was more productive, although we were still fighting the weather a bit. The
same with the final morning {Saturday}, although this day it was pouring. So, the photographer and I decided to make the most
of it and do some experimental shooting in the pouring rain. Well, I dont know if we got any real good pictures out of it,
but we kind of had fun. Standing out in the rain felt kind of cold and yucky at first, but once youre soaked, youre soaked,
and if nothing else, playing in the rain in Jamaica isnt something you get to do everyday. We headed to the airport after that and to
Tampa for the PPV. After our flight was delayed a bit, we ended up landing, getting into Tampa,
and back to American soil! {Tropical Paradises lose their charm quickly.... ie. food, cant drink the water, 4:30am wake up calls, ect.} Debra, Joanie, and I ended the trip with dinner in the revolving restaurant at the top of the
Marriott. It probably took us two hours to eat, trying to get food down in between laughing and exchanging old stories. I
think lack of sleep and total delirium added to the humor factor. After getting to bed that first night in Jamaica at 11pm, it was only later the next two nights and I ended up with about a total of 12 hours
of sleep for the week. So after finally getting to my room in Tampa, I made sure to get my 8 hours of
sleep that night. After all, I had my first singles match on a PPV and just thinking about it made me nervous. Little did
I know what was in store for me.... PPV days are always busy days. All I knew was that Ivory and I had a singles match for
the womens title. Well, late that afternoon, we had the match put together, and we also had some stuff on HEAT to do as well.
Anyways, long story short.... the match begins with me and Ivory on different pages.... I’d say about a minute into
the match, we did a series of moves ending with an enzigury kick. As I was landing, I felt the heel of a big ‘ol granny
boot about 1/4 inch from my eyebrow and 1/4 inch from my eye. At that time I didn’t know much, as the impact had knocked
me loopy, but I did know my face had been cut open. So I’m trying to focus on finishing the match. My mind was going
in 100 directions just saying, THINK, what should you do. Well, I was to the back before I knew it and just glad for the match
to be over. Well, I’ll always remember my first singles match on PPV, maybe not for such great reasons, but that night
will definitely stay with me. It was the first time I had gotten stitches since I was in kindergarten. Dr. Bob ended up giving
me 4 stitches, and I was on my way. The office was cool enough to give me the next night, RAW, off. I felt ok, just a slight
headache and my face was just a little swollen and tender. Yet another reminder, or close call where I ended up stopping for
a sec, to think about how lucky I was not to have lost an eye or have any of my facial bones broken. Well, hopefully with
the new edition of Molly Holly, Tori coming back soon, and singles matches with the girls happening more frequently, we will
continue to improve and learn to work together. Accidents happen all the time like that, with the kind of stuff we are doing
out there. It kind of comes with the territory. No Big Deal....

Sorry!
I can no longer return pics. I just get too many .... but if you get them to me by the end of the month, I will return them.
Just give me a little time and remember - I need a pic (either off the net or a mag or whatever) and a S.A.S.E. (self addressed
stamped envelope) If you have not gotten your pic back and mailed it more than a month ago, it either got lost in the mail,
didn't have proper postage or you didn't send an envelope or pic.
I just got a various artists CD entitled WORLD WARPED
III LIVE, with a lot of great bands and songs on it. I highly reccommend it!
I am currently working on collecting
the 25 new concert CDs PEARL JAM released, but living out here in the country, I haven't had much luck .... but I'll keep
searching. From what I've heard they're great.
Listen up for my new entrance theme. There is talk of ME actually singing
the lyrics!
There should be a new long sleeved shirt out next month of the 3 of us, actually inspired by one of the
fan creations and some input from the 3 of us! I am really excited about this one!
If you are out somewhere and you
see me or one of the other wrestlers, please ask if you would like a picture. We are alienated all the time by the type of
job we have, but you don't need to further it by making us feel like a circus side show. We are people with feelings, and
emotions, and good days and BAD DAYS, so please take that into consideration.
I recently have been studying some Japanese
women's wrestling. Man! Now those are some tough bitches! Only god could help me if I was in there with one of them.
I
wanted to formally congratulate the Hardy Boyz on their new tag team titles! Yay! They are so deserving of them. It's nice
to see both their hard work and great personalities have paid off. Truly and uphill battle. I mean a cage match and ladder
match back to back! I thought the office was kidding when I heard that. I couldn't be more proud of them.
I have gotten
a lot of letters from young girls asking for advice on becoming wrestlers. The best thing I could tell you is to let your
reputation speak for itself. Of course the first step (once you are old enough) is to research schools and sign up so you
can learn how to be safe.
Although I will no longer be returning pictures, I will ALWAYS read my mail and look forward
to going to the post office every week!

OK,
so the slacking is over. It is the year 2000 and I am ready to rock! I hope everyone had a great holiday and New Year. Write
me and tell me your New Year's Eve stories. Cancun was awesome and a great, relaxing time, although I left right after attending the
Richmond Smackdown! taping and got back with about 3 hours until my plane left for RAW in Miami
... but, hey, who is complaining? Not I.
I
am not usually one for holidays, I usually just see them as a glitch in my day with extra traffic and closed stores. This
new year was very different. I mean it really feels new and I encourage everyone to take advantage of this "clean slate" and
really push ourselves to unprecedented heights ... Ready? Ya know, when it comes to timing, we really don't have a choice
in the matter, because time passes us by whether we are ready or not ... completely out of our control.
So what I
am trying to address here is that we all need to be prepared for time to pass. We can't make up excuses as to why now is not
the right time. We are only on this earth for a blink in history, and it should be our goal to make the most of life. It is
more important to me than ever to try to be as real as possible, be a true friend to all the people I care so much for, and
those who helped me have a great '99, and also not to waste any of my energy on negativity. Easier said than done, when this
life can be so hard at times and people can be so completely inconsiderate and forget where they came from.
I have
already been tested this year so far .... But they couldn't put me down. So far, (yeah, what all 8 days:) it has been as simple
as telling myself just not to get upset or angry with other people's actions, and these negative people will end up cutting
their own throats in the end, you may not be there to relish in it, but I don't know anyone who would want to spend their
life with someone putting them down and exuding negative energy. It is a lot easier to sit here and write about staying positive
and making individual changes in your life than going out and doing it, I am by no means perfect, but I do honestly strive
to improve my life every year in any way within my control. I am really excited about this coming year in every way. Let's
see what we can make of it!!!
So, the ball is rolling and I am nearing my debut with the WWF. It seems a little more
real since I started going to the shows on Mondays and Tuesdays. Papi and I have done a couple photo shoots and hopefully
we will get to start together sometime soon. It still doesn't seems real when I watch the shows or even meet the guys in the
locker room that I am really part of this. Maybe it will sink in when I finally walk out under the Titantron. Who knows? I'll
let you know more as I begin the mayhem!
Good Luck to everyone and stay in touch with me as this year progresses .......
Do Something...Stay Positive!!!!
xxoo Amy
